China First Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as China FAW) is a state-owned super-large automobile enterprise group, headquartered in Changchun City, Jilin Province. Its predecessor was the First Automobile Manufacturing Plant, which is one of the key construction projects of the National "First Five-Year Plan".
FAW Group established China's First Automobile Factory in 1953. In 1956, FAW produced China's first truck. In 1958, it manufactured the high-end sedan Hongqi. The establishment of FAW has created a new history for China's automobile industry.
After 70 years of development, China FAW has established five major production bases including FAW Changchun Factory, FAW Tianjin Factory, FAW Qingdao Factory, FAW Guangzhou Factory, and FAW Chengdu Factory, and has built a global research and development layout. The cumulative production and sales of automobiles have exceeded 55 million, and the sales volume ranks first in the Chinese automobile industry.
As a leading Chinese commercial vehicle company, FAW Jiefang has established a global sales network covering more than 80 countries and regions, with key markets including Southeast Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. Currently, FAW's trucks mainly include light, medium and heavy trucks, with full coverage of truck product lines. It has also established KD assembly plants in South Africa and Nigeria to complete its truck production strategy
